This morning, the ACC announced the All-Academic team from this past season. This includes nine members from last year's team.
To be eligible for the team, a player must have earned at least a 3.00 GPA for the previous semester and maintained that average over their academic career.
Three of the nine Syracuse players selected to the team will be returning next season. This includes freshman linebacker Zaire Franklin, who will be the highest returning tackler with 44 last season, redshirt-junior punter Riley Dixon, who's coming off a Heisman campaign, and redshirt-junior left guard Rob Trudo, who will be starting on the offensive line for his third straight year.
The other Orange who will not be returning that were named to this year's team were redshirt-senior left tackle Sean Hickey, senior linebacker Cameron Lynch, senior center John Miller, senior defensive end Robert Welsh, senior wide receiver Jarrod West, and redshirt-senior long snapper Sam Rodgers.
Rodgers was also named to the Capital One Academic All-America Second Team.
