Non Sports Related - Heartwrenching story from the Cuse area - thoughts and prayers

Sometimes we have to just take a break from the insanity of the sports world and unfortunately the release that sports allow most of us from everyday life does not allow us to escape from the tragic and sadness that exists in our world. Most in the Syracuse Family have probably heard and followed the story about the Hinman family. Sadly their story will continue but it will be missing a valuable member as "the mom" in the story Jenna passed away 2 months after giving birth to her twin daughters. Brandon is a dedicated soldier who is stationed at Fort Drum and he and his wife Jenna were blessed with twin daughters two months ago but the story took an unexpected and horrific turn as it was discovered that Jenna was stricken with a rare form of Cancer that is apparently brought on by child bearing. The incredible staff at Crouse took care of the twins and Jenna over the past two months but sadly Jenna contracted Pneumonia this past weekend and lost her battle on Monday. It is just unfathomable to even consider what Brandon and family are going through and range of emotions the past two months has brought to all of them and the overwhelming task that lies ahead of them. From dealing with the reality that the love of his life is gone at just 26 years of age and now he is a widower with two daughters to care for. It is a true case that spans the full gamut of emotions. Here is a link to the story from Syracuse.com.

So I ask all of you to take a brief moment out of your busy lives to pray for Jenna and Brandon and the Hinman family and also take time to give an extra hug or kiss to your loved ones tonight. Sometimes it takes something like this to slow all of us down and take stock of what we have and forget some of the silly stuff that is in the long run mundane and meaningless. Orange Nation is a strong and thoughtful group and know the Hinman family will be blessed with much from this group. God Bless the Hinmans and all the family and friends grieving the loss of Jenna today.
