So Saturday we witnessed the game of the season in college basketball thus far. It went to OT, it featured the two winningest coaches in men's D-I history, and it featured several future pros (Fair, Grant, Ennis, Parker, etc.).
Sunday we watched what was essentially a football game over by the middle of the 2nd quarter, and the commercials didn't help the game out either.
Now, I'm sure I'd feel differently if I were a fan of Seattle, because that would be my team winning a championship. But even then I'd be forced to admit the game on Saturday was a better, more competitive game. People stayed tuned in to the game Saturday, and though I'm not going to take the time to back up this claim, I'm pretty sure a number of casual fans tuned out by the third quarter yesterday, or right after Harvin's KO return.
Now it's on to tonight's game, which we all look to as a trap game, but is still at home. It won't be nearly as loud, I predict, but SU enters it as the presumed No. 1, wearing the target and hopefully prepared to take ND's best shot.
Also, with Arizona's forward out for the season, how many bandwagoners is SU about to welcome?
