last thoughts on the cj call...im not sure if im still bitter or not, but college bball has a real problem with the officiating. the refs are seemingly controlled by the home crowd on any call that is close. and i'll readily admit cuse has been the benefit of some calls at home this year. the charge/block needs to be revised big time in the college game. it's been broken for years.
i always thought it was the offense guys out of control, but i read a good suggestion today that a defender should have to be standing still for at least one second for it to be a charge, otherwise its a block. this is the best possible solution right? it would prevent most of those bang bang plays, which are essentially just guesswork that usually go the way of the home team.compare parker's dunk play in the second half with cj's play at the end and something isn't right. under the one second rule both would be blocking fouls, which at least would feel authentic.
anyone else have a suggestion? i'd love to hear some other seemingly radical approaches to this. anything has to be better than it has been.
