BREAKING NEWS!

OK, now that I got your attention, ESPN announced their NCAA Hoops Announcing Crews. The big news here is Jay Bilas' change in responsibilities.

Jay is no longer doing the ACC Big Monday games. He has been replaced by Shane Battier. Bilas is, however, now replacing Dick Vitale on Saturday Primetime.

So we lose Bilas on our two Big Monday games, at North Carolina on January 26 and at Virginia on March 2.

The way I see it, the only chances we have of seeing Bilas this year on a Saturday Primetime game would be one of the Duke games. The home game on February 14 is a 6pm game. The 9pm game is UConn vs SMU. The February 28 game is TBD and there is no 9pm game listed yet. ESPN has not announced their College Gameday schedule for the season yet, so I could see the game at Duke being a Gameday game.

According to Awful Announcing, which compiled the announcing teams, here are the ESPN crews we would likely see this year:

Big Monday - Sean McDonough, Shane Battier, Allison Williams

ACC Wednesday Games - Bob Wischusen, LaPhonso Ellis

ACC Saturday Games - Dave O’Brien, Doris Burke

Saturday Primetime - Dan Shulman, Jay Bilas, Shannon Spake

ACC Sunday Night (ESPNU) - Adam Amin, Brad Daugherty

Both Bilas and Vitale will work other "Top" games on any days during the week, including a "Marquee" game every Saturday, so we may still see either of them here and there.

Our ACC/Big 10 game at Michigan may see the Big 10 Tuesday crew of Mike Tirico, Dan Dakich, Sam Ponder
