Similarities between SU and Duke sports programs

This isn't exactly an "Einhorn is Finkle, Finkle is Einhorn" moment. Nonetheless, I find it at least somewhat interesting to compare SU and Duke athletics...

  • Private universities;
  • Strong basketball and lax programs (men's and women's);
  • Legendary coaches at the men's basketball programs;
  • Football programs that are on the rise.
Is Duke the rival we deserve, but not the one we need right now? Maybe. Am I trying to mash up too many movie quotes in one fan post? Yes, definitely. Historically, there is no rivalry between these two schools. You could probably make the same kind of argument for UNC, too. I don't know why or even if this is important. Like I said, I just found it interesting. Chime in!
