Greetings. Followed the site for ages, just never got around to posting. I spent nine years in Baldwinsville, had family go to Cuse, and spent several years with family with football season tix (Mcnabb era) and basketball for the title. Since moved to Florida and went to UF (orange and blue works for me in two ways). I've always been a bigger Cuse bball fan than Gator bball despite two recentish titles- can't say the same for football, though.
Anyways. I attended my second Cuse bball game since 05 on Saturday- this one in Miami (last one was UF/Cuse in Tampa, which was a treat). I now live in GA and had some time off to meet up with and convince some friends in SFL to go to the game in Miami. I gotta say- I was shocked as to how many Cuse fans there were. I'd guess at least 1/4-1/3 fans. I even saw an Oswego tailgate, and we were completely surrounded by Cuse fans- surely "let's go orange" could be heard on TV. Some people around us said they chartered a flight to and from Miami in the same day. Needless to say, it's glad to see the Orange travel so well. The UF/Cuse game in Tampa was almost 50/50 fan split despite Gainesville being two hours away and coming off two straight titles. But wow being at that Miami game was exciting as hell. Huge sigh of relief in the final minute once the D clamped down and we could actually make FTs.
Just watche Duke@Pitt. Putting up 80 @ Pitt is easier said than done. Got some family going to the vaunted Duke game- they better bring their A game. Cuse somehow finds a way to keep most their games close, regardless of the quality of opponent. Team reminds me of last year- excellent D but inconsistent and inexplicably iffy offense.
I'll def be hanging around more. Exciting times as usual for Orange bball. Hopefully we don't pull a usual "get up to 1 or 2 then drop some easy game, which will be feasted upon by denizens of haters"- but this happens to everyone, and we know only March truly matters. Cheers
