SU BB Computer Projections

"It's math people playing with numbers that don't know anything with basketball" - The Great Jim Boeheim

Jim Boeheim may not like the Computer Rankings, but they sure like Jim Boeheim and our Orangemen. If your a Kenpom junkie like me I'm sure this is redundant, but I also understand a reluctance to put down $20 for a subscription. In the good old days it was free and the guy would personally respond to silly "what if" email requests. Guess he's grown a little greedy now that he gets referenced on ESPN. Can't say I blame him.

In any event here are the RPI and Kenpom projections for the rest of the SU Season as of the morning of January 2, 2014.

Kenpom currently has SU ranked #5 and likes us to finish 27-4, 14-4. The only games projected as loses are @Pitt and @Duke. If your unfamiliar with Pemeroy, he calculates the margin for error in his own individual game projections into his aggregate season projection. A regular Nate Silver 408483341_medium

RealTimeRPI isn't the actual RPI site, but I've been following it for years and never found their numbers to be any different by more than one or two spots, and even that only in the rare instance (and half suspect that the error was due to the reporting done by the source purporting to have actual RPI rankings). In any event, they have SU at #1. They're projecting SU to win every remaining game, and finish 31-1 on the season. I assume it's the same calculation for error in their own projections that explains the difference.
