Alright, by this juncture on Sunday afternoon, most of our hangovers should be gone by now. There's a fresh Top 25 out, and it is now Week 3. What happened yesterday is now, for us fans, in the past (and a memory which will hopefully be soon forgotten). It's time to move on and look forward. We've got a game this coming Saturday, and not just any game - it's the Dome-Opener for the 2013 season.
I know it's hard to get excited about playing Wagner, but I can think of a few other things worth getting excited about too. We can finally tailgate for a Syracuse game here in Syracuse. Those of you who are road warriors and traveled to either or both of our road games, I salute you. But it's time to bring this thing home and for Syracuse to play on our own turf. In addition, we can practically expect Syracuse to win on Saturday, and if we don't, I think we can all agree we're ****ed. While Wagner is hardly a daunting opponent, it will be very rewarding to watch this Syracuse team put together their first win. Hopefully, the team and coaches learned some things from the games with our two Big Ten "friends," and I'm curious to see what adjustments are made for the Wagner game. I'd expect Hunt to get a lot more playing time, for example, although that's just my opinion. Perhaps Allen will still be the guy 95% of the game... but both Allen and Hunt could use the easy experience the Wagner game will provide.
So, I for one am moving on from yesterday, right now. Focus needs to shift to Wagner and to being in the Dome. So... damn you, Wagner, get ready to be locked in the Dome for a beat-down!
