Macky MacPherson, Jay Bromley, Jerome Smith and Marquis Spruill were selected as captains after a team vote, according to a press release, and will guide the Orange into its first year in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
The 2012 season for the Syracuse Orange appeared to finally be the step back towards the good Orange teams of the late 90's and early 2000's. An 8-5 season that included a blowout win over West Virginia in the Pinstripe Bowl was a sign of a solid future for Doug Marrone and 'Cuse as they headed into the ACC. However, Marrone would head to the Buffalo Bills after the season and he, along with quarterback Ryan Nassib, leaves big shoes to fill in 2013.
The good news is that SU fans are now able to watch the games on their computers. The bad news is that if you live in New York state and are not a Time Warner subscriber, you will not have that option.
Casey Powell's newest lacrosse challenge will be taking over a 3-9 program and turning it into one of the best in Florida.
"They came in with the best offer and a two-year deal is great for me and my family," he said.
"I think they're doing well," SU forward Jerami Grant said of the Orange rookies. "All of them are getting in the gym a lot, just like me and Dajuan (Coleman) did last year."

"I think last week was the first time I felt 100 percent from the mono," he said. "It took a little toll on me, but I think I'm definitely back."
This game is more than just a game. It is two programs with a history of winning, fans who live and breathe for their team and coaches who are two of the best in the country.
