As usual, I attended Fan Fest yesterday, and as usual, it was what it is. A glorified practice. Years ago, it would wrap up in Manley with food and auctions etc. The drawback then was it wasn't free. You get some goodies, and get up close and personal to the players and coaches. I don't do bounce houses, so can't speak about them. Schedule poster kicks ass too by the way. I'm not an expert on the little things you may see at practice, so I'll give you some real basic thoughts.
At QB, as you expected, it seems to be a two horse race. I personally think they both have a lot to offer, though I suspect Allen gets the nod. Austin Wilson had the best two throws of the day however. Mitch Kimble is a teeny tiny boy compared to the other "men".
At RB, one word seems to describe the situation. LOADED.
At LB, we all think we're in pretty good shape, and Luke Arciniega looks like a beast. He is quick and very large. Had a nice pick 6 on Allen. The drawback there is it was the first of two consecutive INTs by Allen.
In case Cohen hasn't reported it yet, seems as though most of the defensive coaches DID indeed wear bucket hats. Shafer, who I had a few nice words with, wore his visor, as usual.
Overall, the most important thing here is that the season, successful or not, is here, and it smells great! Is it 8/31 yet?
