LeBron James Skills Camp Measurements

Every year top recruits from around the country get invited to show off their skills against other elite recruits with scouts and college coaches watching. For me, the event has great value because it is often the first opportunity for you to find out some of the recruits legitimate measurements including height, weight & wingspan as opposed to the sometimes exaggerated measurements put out there by the kid's school or perpetrated by the media to hype the recruit's status. Here is a list of Syracuse targets and their measurements. All height measurements are with their shoes on and weight measurements with their shoes off:

2014:

Chris McCullough: 6'8 1/2" tall, 196 lbs. & 7'2 1/2" wingspan.

Ja'Quan Newton: 6'2" tall, 173 lbs. & 6'6" wingspan.

Goodluck Okonoboh: 6'10" tall, 213 lbs. & 7'2 1/2" wingspan.

Isaiah Whitehead: 6'4" tall, 195 lbs. & 6'5 1/2" wingspan.

2015:

Isaiah Briscoe: 6'3 1/2" tall, 214 lbs. & 6'8 1/2" wingspan.

Thomas Bryant: 6'9 1/2" tall, 217 lbs. & 7'4" wingspan.

Cheick Diallo: 6'8 1/2" tall, 208 lbs. & 7'3" wingspan.

Some thoughts about these measurements:

McCullough must add an inch and/or some weight to be a legitimate power forward. Ja'Quan Newton has a better than expected wingspan which may help him compete against Syracuse's other PG target Kaleb Joseph who was not invited to this camp and I have never been able to find his wingspan, but it's rumored to be exceptional. Okonoboh is an important inch taller than expected; to me 6'9" is not a legitimate center whereas 6'10" is. Whitehead's numbers were as expected. Isaiah Briscoe is a 17 year old junior in high school playing in a MAN's body at 214 lbs. and 6'8 1/2" wingspan. Thomas Bryant's numbers were better than expected across the board and in fact has the second longest wingspan in the camp behind some beast who is 7'0 1/2" tall, 322 lbs. and 7'5" wingspan. Diallo's number were as expected with an excellent wingspan as well.

Did any of these number surprise you?
