With just a few more days until our move to the ACC is official and with all of this reflecting back on the past, I'd like to mention that Sean Keeley is a genius of sorts. Why is this, you ask? Well, anyone remember this gem from 2010?
Although much of what Sean predicted would happen didn't happen, he saw the bigger picture and was so right. The Big East didn't do squat to save itself until it was too late. And our Dear Leader's prognostication regarding the demise of the Big East in 2013 pretty much came to pass. Sure, the Big East name itself isn't gone, and this new Big East looks a lot like the old one. It isn't though. The new Big East will always live in the shadow of the old Big East. Speaking of the original Big East, that organization didn't cease to exist completely, but as of July 1st will be known as the AAC (or Aresco Athletic Conference, as I like to call it). The Big East we once called home, that we helped to found, that existed from 1979 until now, is going to be gone in 3 days. Nice call, Sean. Any other dire predictions you have for us?
