Contract or no contract, FHCDM undoubtedly resurrected Syracuse Football. But, I'm not here to discuss this... I'm actually curious how many other coaches have made the leap from SU to an NFL head coaching job? Certainly none in the last 20 years.
The thing I love about it is that, when people have conversations about football coaches, the question almost always gets brought up, "Oh, where was so and so coach of again?" Oregon, Stanford, etc. People talk about this stuff. They remember that Stanford had some solid seasons under Luck before Harbaugh left, and Oregon made a National Championship run with Kelly. They'll remember when Syracuse crushed Geno Smith and West Virginia in the Pinstripe bowl. And that puts Syracuse in the same conversation with those programs. Someone please explain to me how that's a bad thing.
