The 2013 Syracuse Orange Blogger (S.O.B.) Awards are here. Honoring the players, coaches, fans and moments from the 2012-2013 Syracuse Orange basketball season, we here at TNIAAM are splitting the process between ourselves and you, the dear readers.
The category up for debate at the moment is Biggest Idiot of the Season.
This one is different from Biggest Villain/Nemesis. Think of it this way, the Biggest Villain is the person you hated the most this year while the Biggest Idiot was the person who annoyed you the most.
Maybe it's Andy Katz, who was literally referred to as an idiot by Jim Boeheim over what Jimmy thought was a breach of trust in an interview during the Bernie Fine mess.
Or you could go with Gregg Doyel, who asked a bad question at a worse time and felt the brunt for it.
Or how bout Jeff Goodman, who ended up being told that should he attempt to earn a Pulitzer Prize, he would best do so elsewhere.
You can even go with James Southerland, whose academic suspension could have been avoided before it somewhat derailed SU's early Big East run.
Or how bout Michael Carter-Williams, who jeopardized his entire career for a Lord & Taylor bathrobe?
And then there's Seth Davis, who proudly said that Montana would beat Syracuse in the first round of the NCAA Tournament (but was at least good enough to live up to his bet).
There's even Jon Wilner or Ron Morris, the former of whom under-ranked Syracuse all season and the latter of which just does idiotic things with his AP vote in general.
And of course there's Doug Gottlieb, who...is Doug Gottlieb.
Go vote in the poll below and then provide your reasoning in the comments. We'll close voting in 24 hours and tally up the results. The TNIAAM crew will make their own selection and then we'll combine the results to pick our winner. We'll announce the winner in a post next week that includes some of your comments as well as ours.
And so, it's time to decide who you consider the Biggest Idiot of the 2012-2013 season.
