The reason no official announcements have been made regarding the C-7/Big East/America 12 is because the incoming football schools (Memphis, UCF, SMU, Houston) are insisting on getting a larger slice of the exit fees. UConn, USF, and Cincinnati will receive the large majority of the funds, with a decent chunk going to Temple. The newcomers argue they deserve a relatively equal slice of the exit fees, even though they've yet to play one game in their new home. Maybe this get resolved today and it's a non-issue. The TV contract for the Aresco conference is better than for any other mid-major football conference, afterall. That alone will probably keep this motley crew together. What a great way to kick off your new conference - fighting over money.
