Departure of Catholic 7 schools this fall could mean Notre Dame joins ACC in 2013 instead of 2014, sources tell @espn— Brett McMurphy (@McMurphyESPN) February 28, 2013
And it's official. The C7's keeping the Big East name and will start up this coming fall. They've got $20M in the bank right now, and will be paying for exit fees for the A-10 schools that are invited. The current Big East football schools still get to keep their AQ bid for the BCS this year, regardless of name change. Also means Notre Dame may be leaving this fall as well.
