Providence guard Vincent Council broke Sherman Douglas’ long-standing Big East record for career assists on Wednesday night. Council’s record-breaker came when he found LaDontae Henton down low for a dunk that got the Friars to within 16-14. Syracuse eventually overwhelmed PC 84-59.

"That’s kind of motivation for me to go out there and prove everybody wrong," Sales said. "I felt like I had a real good season.
