(updated with new results)
I don't think anyone is going to confuse the last four years as a return to our glory days, but 3 bowl wins in 4 years is still a nice little feat. It's also only the 2nd time in program history that it's been done (SU won 5 straight bowl games from 1988-92).
Out of curiosity, I ran down all the Bowl results from the last four years (obviously some are still pending) to see how many other schools could boast 3 Bowl wins, or 3 losses. Obviously not all Bowls are created equal (Lafyette's 3 R+L Carrier wins, or Wisconsin's 3 Rose Bowl loses), but below are the biggest winners and losers over the last 4 years.
3 wins (and still a chance for 4): Alabama, Florida State, Oklahoma State
3 wins: Boise State, BYU, Louisville, Oregon, Syracuse, Texas Tech, UL-Lafayette, Michigan State, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Central Florida
2 wins (and still a chance for 3):
Baylor, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Stanford, Texas A&M, Auburn, Central Florida
4 Loses: Wisconsin
3 Loses (and still a chance for 4):
3 Loses: Georgia Tech, Kansas State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Georgia, Virginia Tech, Nebraska
2 Loses (and still a chance for 3): UCLA,
Virginia Tech, LSU, Georgia, Clemson
Here's to hoping Ohio State adds Clemson to the list of 3x Losers
