First Meeting: Don't know what you're talking about it. Never happened.
Last Meeting: How can you forget...
Head Coaches: SU: Jim Boeheim (38th Year, 927-314); Indiana: Tom Crean (6th Year, 90-83)
Last Year: The preseason No. 1 team in all the land, the Hoosiers did have two sizable stints at the top of the rankings before ending up No. 4 before the NCAAs. They won the Big Ten regular season title and were the fourth-overall team and No. 1 seed in the East when the tourney seed were announced. Then they ran into the 2-3 Zone in the Sweet Sixteen.
Last Game: The Hoosiers are coming off a 77-46 win over Evansville last Tuesday. That's a bounce-back following their first loss of the season, to UConn in the 2K Sports Classic championship game.
Head Coach: Tom Crean (6th year) - Crean has rebuilt the Indiana basketball program from the ground up. A 6-25 disaster in his first season, he's put them back in the NCAAs two years in a row. You may remember Crean from his 9-year stint at Marquette. He was 0-2 against Syracuse while there. And now he's 0-1 at Indiana.
"Fear Me, I've Killed Hundreds Of Timelords": Don't take Yogi Ferrell pic-a-nic basket. He might just throw down some of his 18.1 PPG. Meanwhile, Noah Vonleh is averaging 12.9 PPG and 10.4 RPG and Jim Boeheim thinks he's the "best inside freshman player in the country." That's not good.
If Syracuse Wins…: They'll have done their part for the ACC and made sure Indiana pays evermore for their 1987 insolence.
If Syracuse Loses…: It will be the first loss of the season and a bit of a letdown following the Maui Invitational.
Fun Fact: Syracuse, Indiana is a real place. It's the only good thing about the state.
