Stop me if you've heard this one before. A fanbase finds out its team is playing the Syracuse Orange in a bowl game. They're disappointed and immediately start talking about what a blowout it's going to be. Victory is assumed.
And then the bowl game happens and everyone is, like, what just happened?
Such is what it's like to play the Orange in a bowl game these days.
Syracuse went into the third quarter with a 14-3 lead, having shut down the Minnesota offense and doing a reasonable job on offense (that passes for high praise). And then all of a sudden Minnesota realized who our secondary was and just like that it was 17-14. All hope was lost.
And then Brisly Estime and Terrel Hunt did Brisly Estime and Terrel Hunt things with a minute left in the game, giving the Orange a game-winning touchdown. 21-17 and Syracuse finishes with a 7-6 record, the first time they've had consecutive winning seasons since 2000-2001.
