The Boston Celtics briefly became The Official NBA Team of Syracuse Orange fans when they drafted Kris Joseph and Fab Melo before this season. That reign appears over already with Melo in Maine and Joseph now waived from the team:

In the first of what will likely be more moves by the Boston Celtics, the C's have waived rookies Jarvis Varnado and second-round pick Kris Joseph.

"I wasn't totally shocked, because you know this is part of the business," he told CSNNE.com. "But yeah, it's definitely disappointing."

Word on the street is that the Celts are getting ready for a big trade and need some cap room.

Good luck to Kris, here's to hoping he catches on with someone else. Or at the very least, becomes the latest Syracuse NDBL star.

As for the Celtics, I can go back to not caring about them and therein lies the great victory in all of this.
