Hasn't anyone else ever realized a dream 'whatever' before? What do you do next - stay stagnant, or set new goals, new dreams? Having achieved his goal to land (and to no small degree succeed at) his 'dream job' why are so many people surprised that, perhaps, he has a new dream? One that even makes a lot of sense like holding one of the 32 best football coaching jobs in the world? (Say what you will about shitty NFL teams - the HC of the shittiest NFL team still has a better gig than any coach who isn't the HC of an NFL team)...
I hope he stays. These interviews could be happening for lots of reasons not directly related to HCDM wanting out of Syracuse (as many others have pointed out - exposure for program, leverage for a bigger raise in contract talks with the school, the recognition that he might want to return to the NFL someday, and its probably best to take interviews from NFL teams when they call as opposed to blowing them off if you might like to work in that arena someday, maybe he's just a really nice guy and is going with the, "they asked me, so I interviewed" theory...who knows). I am pretty disappointed that some on this site are already bitching about him and being negative just because he agreed to take a couple meetings. Lets wait for the guy to make a move before thinking about excoriating him can we?
