Sorry Scott Shafer, the stats don't lie. Syracuse basketball and football are not morning teams.
The fact that the game between the Syracuse Orange and Villanova Wildcats started at 11:00 a.m. ET did not go unnoticed by Orange faithful. Especially those of us on the West Coast who had to rise at 8:00 a.m. to watch a non-NCAA Tournament basketball game.
Turns out, Syracuse fans aren't the only ones who hate playing so early in the day. Syracuse players clearly hate it as well.
The amazing folks at @espnstatsinfo report that #Syracuse is 7-5 over last 4 seasons in games starting at noon or earlier, 94-7 otherwise!

Coincidence? I think not when you consider that the Syracuse football team has a similar issue with The Dreaded Nooner. Since 2006, Syracuse has lost something like* 20 of 22 games that start at 12:00 p.m. ET.
The evidence is clear. Eleven and Noon are cursed times for Syracuse Athletics and we should not play games at these times. Ever. For any reason.
DOC Gross, do your job.
