It's not often that Syracuse Orange football is affected by the weather but today's game against the USC Trojans is likely to be met with a serious case of the rainsies.

Oh and there's uh, a tornado nearby. No big deal...

A possible tornado struck the outer reaches of the New York boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens Saturday, downing trees and power lines.

As for the Meadowlands, it's not likely that a tornado is gonna touch down on the field (unless that's what you're referring to the USC offense as. However, there's likely to be some heavy rain and wind, which could change the entire complexion of both offenses and gameplans.

Weather forecast calls for occasional thunderstorms to begin around 4:00 p.m. with winds up to 20-30 MPH. The temperature will remain high but the storms are expected to get worse as the day goes on.

And so, for what has to be the first time since 1978, a Syracuse home game will be affected by weather (before you make your requisite 90% in the Dome comment, don't...). Speaking of the Dome...

BOOM, DOC.
