Never forget, Syracuse Orange fans, we're always one Dreaded Upper Body Injury or Dreaded Lower Body Injury away from Charley Loeb being our starting quarterback. Not to mention the fact that next year, despite all the hype that so many other guys bring to the table, he will come into the 2013 season as the favorite to be the next starter.

We know him as RGLCL. Ridiculously Good Looking Charley Loeb (for obvious reasons). But perhaps we should remind ourselves to keep an eye on the next Todd Philcox because he could end up being more than just a pretty face.

Not only do we get a "whiz-bang" ("Loeb, a whiz-bang student in psychology") but we also get some great quotes from He-Who-Could-Be-King-For-One-Season.

"Everybody wants to be a starter," Loeb admitted. "And I haven’t been. But I can’t say that I have any remorse. I have nothing but happiness with my decision to come to Syracuse. This has been a great deal. What I’ve gotten here, in my opinion, is a great chance to be a good quarterback. I’ve been given a fair shot. I just haven’t taken it yet.

"If it’s a one-year deal I end up getting here, or a one-game deal . . . I don’t know. I don’t have any idea. But I have a lot of confidence in myself. I think I’ll have the opportunity next season to compete for the starting gig. Hopefully, I have a good future. I just know that if I get that chance, I don’t want to blow it."

Nate Hackett adds that he would feel totally comfortable with putting Loeb in the game to run his offense.

Loeb may never start a game for Syracuse or he might end up starting all of them next year. Either way, he's exactly the kind of quarterback you want on the sidelines. Plans like he's playing every week, wants to get in the game ASAP and has the good looks to snatch up a Hoffmann's endorsement deal in minutes.
