Former Syracuse Orange forward/center Rick Jackson has been telling people for weeks that he was going to be signed by the Golden State Warriors. Today it became a reality.
The Golden State Warriors signed four new players to their team on Wednesday, reports Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports. They are guard Carlon Brown, guard/forward Lance Goulbourne, forward Rick Jackson & guard/forward Tarence Kinsey. Here's a little background on each of these players.
Of course, Jackson has an uphill climb ahead of him as he has to make the opening day roster. But a chance is all you can ask for.
Jackson joins quite a few other former Orange on the fringe of their respective rosters and will attempt to catch on with an NBA squad. Among them are...
Kris Joseph - While he was drafted by the Boston Celtics and performed well in Summer League, don't be fooled into thinking KrisJo is a lock. He's got a lot of competition there to make the final roster. Some think he's bound for Maine while others think he's got a spot on the roster reserved for him for the time being. At least Kris is enjoying himself.
And of course then there's Donte Greene, who was about to sign with the Brooklyn Nets when he fractured his ankle. He may still get a shot once he's healed but he's not going to be in camp with the team.
