Syracuse Football Is, Dare I Say, Healthy

Jesse Johnson-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

There are myriad reasons why this bye week is coming at the perfect time for the Syracuse Orange football team. Amongst those reasons is the fact that it gives the players a chance to heal and for it to be likely that SU will have most, if not all, of its injured players back on the field by the time the Pittsburgh Panthers come calling.

We already knew that Justin Pugh would be back to form The Head of the Voltron we call the SU offensive line. Now we know he'll also be joined by another Orange who has yet to see the field, wide receiver Adrian Flemming.

Starting offensive tackle Justin Pugh and wide receiver Adrian Flemming will definitely be back on the field, Orange coach Doug Marrone said Monday.

Marrone also expects cornerback Brandon Reddish to return (good) as well as running back/kick returner Steve Rene (meh).

Flemming is an interesting wild card in the SU WR mix. Right now it's become a three-man show (Sales, Lemon, West). However, Flemming was getting high praise early in camp before he was injured and may be able to sneak in there.

The only eligible, injured Orange who's left is WR Jeremiah Kobena, who is expected to need a few more weeks and likely won't return until mid-October.

No word on whether or not Richie Rene will be available for Syracuse next week.
