And so, the 2012-2013 Syracuse Orange basketball schedule is officially in the books. We know who the Orange will play in their final Big East season. We know who they'll play in the non-conference portion. And now we know all of the Gotham Classic opponents.
On December 15th, Syracuse will reportedly host the Canisius Golden Griffins in their first game of the Gotham Classic. The Griffs are led by Jim Baron, who is in his first season as head coach. He's got his work cut out for him as the Griffs finished 5-25 (1-17), dead last in the MAAC, last season. Syracuse is 45-24 against the Griffs all-time.
We already know that Syracuse will face Detroit on December 17th and we know the Orange will travel to MSG to play the Temple Owls on December 22nd. As for that fourth and final Gotham Classic game, it looks like it's actually going to take place following the final (huh?).
The Alcorn St. Braves will reportedly visit the Dome on December 29th, a full week following the finale against Temple. Since it's a round-robin tournament, it doesn't really matter, but, weird. Alcorn won ten games last season and their RPI ranking was 335th out of 344, so, I think Griffin Hoffmann's got this one. SU is 1-0 all-time against the Braves. (H/T: Chris D.)
