PSU and its affect on Syracuse

While I don't want to take pleasure in the horrific incidents that occurred on Paterno watch, and I feel for the fans of PSU, there is also a golden opportunity that is presenting itself. PSU is sinking and many of the players will look to get off the ship. The other reality is that there now a massive power vacuum when it comes to college football in the Northeast section of the country. There are no other top level teams which are easy drives for their parents to go watch them play.

Syracuse (along with Pitt ) play in what is easily the weakest BCS conference. No one has any clue how the BE season will play out, and the Big East will probably be drastically undermanned in whatever bowl game it goes to. The flip side is with a couple of good additions we could flip the scales and easily be in contention for the BE championship.

How do you all feel about going after some of the PSU players and does anyone know if we have a chance to snag some? This could be the turning point that Syracuse's program needs to get back to where it was in the 90s. If Penn State is going to become irrelevant (at least temporarily) then we might as well try to make the best of it. Everyone else will.
