The Orange will be the three seed in the Big East Tournament starting Thursday, May 10 following a 7-0 win over South Florida (RPI 19) today. The two teams split a doubleheader Saturday with SU winning the first 2-0 and the Bulls posting a 4-3 win in the second.
SU is currently 40-15 overall (17-5 in the Big East) and was 24th in RPI rankings (will probably move up a spot or two when the new RPI rankings come out this week), so they should be in the College World Series regardless of how they do in the BET.
SU will most likely play St. Johns in the quarterfinal match on Thursday. The Orange played the Red Storm in a 3-game series earlier in the season with SU taking two out of three games. If they win that game, they'll most likely play Notre Dame in the semis (another team the Cuse won two out of three games earlier). There is a good chance that SU can get to the final again this year where they'll most likely run into top seeded Louisville for the automatic qualifier.
