UPDATE: The Hornets did indeed waive Chris Johnson on Wednesday and they used the open roster spot to sign center Darryl Watkins.

Watkins last played in the NBA back in 2007-08 with Sacramento. He played in the preseason with the Hornets, but was cut prior to the start of this season.
