I've now done five of these. Fab Melo might be the only guy having a season comparable with his Syracuse Center fore-bearers. I don't know if this is because Fab is just that good, or because Syracuse Orange centers tend more towards the... workmanlike. The five position tends to be the home of our lunch-pail players. Hold down the zone on defense, maybe block some shots, make your baskets within seven feet and for the love of Boeheim don't shoot it from outside of seven feet.

Fun fact: these seven players have combined for eight three-point attempts. And one make. And the guy that took most of those shots only really made the list because of his nickname.

There aren't many true back-to-the-basket centers around any more. Syracuse is lucky to have had two in the past few years.
