The 2012 Busted Mug Championship rolls on in the Sam Cassell regional title contest, the last Egregious Eight match up before all the chips are down in the Fugly Four.
Now that the season is over for the Syracuse Orange, most fan discussion has turned to the professional prospects of the departing players. Scoop and Kris are lost to graduation and will no doubt enter their names in the NBA draft. Dion has announced his intentions to do the same and all signs point to Fab doing so as well.
But what about the BMC contestants? Some, like Cassell Region #1 seed Anthony Davis, surely have a future in one professional basketball league or another. But about those whose skills on the court aren't quite up to par? If there a market for professional ugliness? It worked for this guy. Perhaps it can work for our BMC contestants as well.
Name: Anthony Davis (1)
Team: C, Kentucky Wildcats
Path to Glory: I read a column by Rick Reilly the other day on 15 reasons to watch the Sweet Sixteen. A puff piece typical of Reilly. His first point was whether or not the Indiana Hoosiers would "bow to the 'brow". When your unibrow gets made fun of by Rick Reilly, taking down a mug as busted as Mike Meyers Keitt's is a piece of cake.

Name: Gilvydas Biruta (3)
Team: C, State University of New Jersey (aka Rutgers) Scarlet Knights
Path to Glory: It should really be no surprise that Biruta has been able to make it this far as a 3 seed. I'll admit I underseeded him. He looks like a troglodyte.....Ok, I just wanted an excuse to use the word "troglodyte". I'm through.
