Big East referee and scourge of the free world Jim Burr will be inducted into the New York State Basketball Hall of Fame on Sunday, March 18 in Glens Falls,NY.

One of the original officials hired to do Big East games.. .has officiated in Big East, Big 10, SEC, ACC, Big 12, Atlantic 10, Conference USA and the MAAC. Sixteen Final Four games.

I don't know what's more frightening. That Burr has been a referee for the Big East this entire time or that he's reffed 16 Final Four games. Forget Dave Gavitt, no one has affected the state of Big East basketball quite like Jim Burr.

Jim also has a lot of fans in Memphis, as you can imagine. Probably the most damning indictment of Burr? Jim Calhoun likes him.

Big East referee John Cahill is also being inducted into the NYS Hall along with a whole bunch of high school coaches.
