Around SBN: Win or Lose, Boston Celtics' New Big 3 Era A Success

We're two years away. We won eight games last year. Won a bowl game. Because of that, people are going to have maybe too-high expectations for 2011. But this year, we'll struggle a bit...I don't think people outside the program realized how much of a hole he was given to dig out of. Yeah, we'll struggle a bit this year. Not early, but likely in the second half of the season. Next year, though, next year we're finally going to start getting around that corner we've been trying to turn for so long."

Floyd Little's prophetic comments to ESPN's Ryan McGee in August.

Well Apparently

It took them 5 years to grow Jim Brown 2.0 in a test tube.

I think I remember this quote back then thinking "wtf?!"

but now it all makes sense…..oh karma!

Since the early 1990's I have not been able to get Mike Hopkins' bloody face out of my brain. I don't remember what game it was but I'll never forget that as my first memory of SU basketball. Mike Hopkins, bloody face, bloody nose, all for the love of Syracuse.

He knew where we stood

and that was some good insight. I hope we are really good this year. We have a lot of playmakers back and guys are a year older. I think he may have expected Chan Jones to come back when he said this but oh well. I think we can get back to consistent respectability over the next two years. We really need that football practice facility thought if we want to keep our head above water in the ACC. Nick Seban could be coaching and we would still be a .500 level team in the ACC with our current digs.

May Doug Marrone bless you and keep you.

It goes to show you

That people inside the program know far more about how far they’ve come and where they need to go compared to us, the fans, on the outside looking in with limited insight.

This team has definitely come a long way.

I still cannot help but think we left a few wins on the table last year though.

Oh well.

Maybe

But we also stole a few games that could/should have went the other way. I’ll call it a draw

He was at least half right.

I hope he’s spot on with the second half of the prediction as well, but we’ll see.
