I don't want to see Flynn to the Knicks
Flynn’s time in Syracuse was great, and I love the guy to death. But he’s really underachieved in the NBA and he’s a shoot-first point guard. The Knicks may have something in Jeremy Lin – I only want to see Flynn there if they can give up some baggage like Balkman/Bibby, two guys the Rockets have no interest in.
The Rockets don't seem to have much interest in Flynn, either.
Flynn has gotten a bit of a bad rap. He had a serviceable rookie season, got hurt, and then punted to the bench.
I've been involved in a number of cults, both as a leader and a follower. You have more fun as a follower. But you make more money as a leader.
Plus he hated the triangle offense in Minnesota.
He would fit well with LA’s Dribble drive style.
I'll agree
He didn’t really get a real shot. But the whole, “you never lose your job because of injury” thing doesn’t really apply in sports any more. If your replacement catches fire, then he’s going to stay there until he cools off, gets injured, whatever. A servicable rookie season doesn’t exactly compel a coach to stick with him after injury.
I will say though, at the risk of sounding bitter, Jonny could have used another year of seasoning at the ‘Cuse. He was a guy that got by mostly on quicks and athleticism, attributes that are largely negated in the League for a guy that’s prolly no taller than 5’10". Another year of college to actually learn how to play PG and maybe a servicable rookie year turns into a good, or even great, one and he doesn’t lose his spot to Luke Ridnour.

Lin isn't a long term answer
He’s a liability on defense and even the Seven Seconds or Less Suns proved that you can’t win titles without a little bit of defense. Now, you could say the same thing about Steve Nash, who everyone agrees is the PG the Knicks need….but Lin is no Steve Nash.
Really, there are only 3 PG I can think of who can effectively run D’antoni’s system: Nash, Jason Kidd and Chris Paul. Pass-first PG who can make a jump shot when you need them to. Otherwise, most young PG nowadays are looking to score, and that’s not the PG primary job in that system. I’d love to see Syracuse alums teaming up, but NY isn’t the place for Jonny.

Pick and roll PGs
Actually need to be willing to pass to the screener. I’ve never in my life seen Jonny pass off a screen/roll. Never. Ever.
