I do believe 2013 is the magic year now. I bet Memphis is a compromise where the basketball schools accept Houston, C Flo and SMU in exchange for Memphis. Still leaves basketball in a very weak position; all 4 teams could combine and still not field a team capable of beating SU. Further, this does nothing but kill football with a mediocre team, by ConUSA standards. If Navy starts to falter (and there have been signs of that the past 2 years), the BE football could be worse than Mtn West.
But who cares, WV is gone and SU/Pitt are right behind them.
With Boise & SDSU (and probably AFA) in the Big East, Utah in the Pac 12, and BYU as an indy?
No, the MWC is a shadow of its former self (and the new WAC makes the Sun Belt look good).
The Big East after SU, Pitt, and WVU leave is CUSA 2. Which isn’t great, but it’s better than CUSA or the MWC.
