T.W.I.T.S. - This Week In Twitter: Syracuse
Yes I know this normally runs on early on Mondays but I had a football game to get to and the ensuing hangover to fight through the next day. However Paul Harris seems to think he could be suiting up for the big game one day:
Before you here it on the Internet I'm trying out for the NFL as a tight end I will be at the combine never played football in my life...
— paul harris (@paulharris11) February 5, 2012
Why couldn't Pauly have made this decision a little sooner ... ya know when Greg Robinson needed all the help he could get.
While this may sound like Dick Vitale's wet dream, I don't see it happening anytime soon. Also the fact that he can somehow get to the combine without ever playing football in his life is amusing. Hey Goodell, if Paul can get a look why can't I? Harris seemed to have second thoughts a minute later when he realized he would be getting smacked around by big men:
My uncle big james gas me into know I think about it I might not go because if I get hit to hard I might QUIT!!!

The Most Disappointing Breakfast Tweet:
Aint it crazy that we cant have cream cheese for our bagels cause its considered a NCAA violation?!? Thats OC for real
— Kris Joseph (@Krisjo32) February 3, 2012
Yup, the cream cheese rule is 100% true. There has been a fight to overturn it tho. It looks like Fab isn't a fan as well:
@Krisjo32 lol, I get so mad when I have to eat that dry asz bagel.

Best #FabMeloRumor:
For those of you who don't know or have been under a rock #FabMeloRumors started up while the big guy was on suspension. It looks that he's embraced the trend:
Notrumor. I was lookin 4 my class. Lol"@jdtessier: Fab Melo went to the Carousel Mall and got lost looking for his Destiny#FabMeloRumors"
— Fab Melo (@Melo_elo51) February 1, 2012

— Fab Melo (@Melo_elo51) February 1, 2012
Since he's no stranger to referring to himself in the third person, he's flipped the trend and started tweeting #FabMeloFacts about himself:
#FabMeloFacts is revealing Fab Melo's facts. He might do something about it. Lol
— Fab Melo (@Melo_elo51) February 2, 2012
Fab Melo will definitely block somebodys view at the concert tonight. #FabMeloFacts

Super-lame Superbowl Party-Goer of the Week:
Really bro @A_Nassar33 falling asleep watching the super bowl that's unheard of!! twitter.com/TCooney10/stat…
— Trevor Cooney (@TCooney10) February 6, 2012
Looks like the Superbowl was a bit too boring for Freshman Albert Nassar as he decided nap time was a must ... well let's hope he was napping there and not passed out.
Not even going to touch Dion this week ... Sean already did an excellent job of it.

It's seriously against the rules to provide spreads for the bagels?
I thought KrisJo was kididng!
Born in '87, Orange fan since '86
I guess I made a twitter, follow @StealthTurkey
I'm guessing Rutgers
Rutgers probably balked and said that providing spreads for bagels would put smaller schools that can’t afford cream cheese at a disadvantage.
Yeah
I remember reading an article about the “cream cheese rule” awhile back. I forget the asinine reasoning behind it, but it’s 100% legit.

Bagels are considered a snack under NCAA Guidelines and can be given out whenever
If you add cream cheese or peanut butter then the NCAA considers it a Meal
This looks like a joke
But I’m sure that’s word for word from the NCAA rule book. Those guys are hysterical.

So, the unlimited meal plan that comes with the Scholly is cool
but cream cheese for the bagels in the locker room is out. Can someone please tell me how the NCAA is still in business?

After some googling
Apparently it’s to keep some schools by providing recruits with too ridiculous a spread (aka we have bagels accompanied by a 5 star meal), but c’mon, someone didn’t put their thinking cap on when writing the rule.
If you're going to be stupid, you're going to have to be tough
Heh.

Because then it's just a snack
If you put butter on your lobster, however, it becomes a meal
