Digger Phelps makes the same mistake we all make, confusing 7'0" Brazilian Fab Melo with Thad Matta. It happens. Hubert Davis still isn't convinced that Matta is Syracuse's go-to guy. (via Ballin Is A Habit).

At least he was able to pronounce "Fab" correctly

That studio host the other day was having a tough time with it.

You didn't know his name was pronounced Fob?

And I love that he did it several times, at half time and post game and no one thought to correct him, even off camera

He claimed that Fob is the correct pronunciation, from a Portugese standpoint.

Not sure if that’s right or not, but it sure sounds goofy and I, for one, won’t change the way I say it….

well, Fab is short for Fabricio

which is pronounced Fob-ricio not Fab-ricio, so I guess he’s still a dumbass…

OT- UConn

Sheesh. I mean, I guess they played well against Seton Hall the other day. Other wise they haven’t done anything right since 2012 started.

Now watch them come into the Dome fired up…

Actually

they were awful against Seton Hall for the majority of that game. Seton Hall without Pope and still UConn was having trouble offensively. They are a mess right now. Bold prediction. They don’t get in the tournament.

Didn't realize that

Caught a few highlights that made it seem like a rout, and saw they won big. Didn’t know there was no Pope, either.

I think they’ll sneak in, but they’re cutting it close. They’re going to HAVE to win one of the games against us. I have noticed they’ve been especially dreadful against zones, for the most part.

It might be time for Digger to step down.

Senility has hit him hard the last couple years.

Hubert davis has nothing to say about cuse other than we have no go to guy...

Its getting pretty old…on gameday rece davis asked them about the return of fab and the impact it has…both bilas and digger did just fine answering the question…hubert on the other hand went off on a tangent about jon henson…i was baffled and wondered if the noise in mizzou arena hindered his ability to hear the question correctly.

You keep chanting one more year, I thought college was four years

“It’s like Hubert Davis became an analyst, wrote down 5 talking points, and has never bothered to learn anything new since.”

He's also trying his best to turn their studio into the equivalent of Fox NFL pregame

Hubert yells and laughs hysterically at pretty much nothing.

Hubert always seems to repeat things

Then owe up to it when he’s wrong after a game….then go right back to whatever he was saying before that game.

Noticed that too

it was pretty obvious they were talking about Cuse and STJU, but nope… Hubert skipped over cuse and went straight to the next topic of discussion

Oh My My My,

What ever would we do without The Big Bastard, Thad Matta, to anchor our zone for us!
