Syracuse Daily Links - Cuse's Win Over Johnnies Gets GIF'd

Lots of Pulp: GIFs of the Week
Sure, there may have been other sporting events this weekend, but one in particular was GIFtacular. Syracuse's massacre of St. John's provided a rich collection of GIFs, stocking this edition to the max.

Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim says there's no NCAA Tournament favorite - NY Daily News
"I don’t think there is a great basketball team out there," Boeheim said. "Last year, I thought there were two — Ohio State and Kansas — and neither made it to the Final Four. Everyone talks about parity, but this year there really is parity.

So many factors go into the attendance decline, but topping them all has got to be TV (in general, and ESPN in particular). SU’s attendance peaked in 1989. Well, Big Monday started on ESPN in 1987, and their coverage has only expanded since then. Before that, you’d get a game here and a game there on one of the Big 3 networks. Now, 25 years later, ESPN broadcasts (or produces for local cable) every single SU game, except the one or two on CBS. In High Definition. On your giant plasma TV, where you can pause and rewind.

"He said, you know, they just let (you score)," said Mungro, who now lives in Indianapolis after retiring from playing with the NFL’s Colts. "I said, look it, I’m going to take it because I’m going be the MVP of the bowl game."

Big East Basketball Power Rankings 2/6: Pitt is charging from behind - The UConn Blog
Once again there is no question about the top team in the league -- Syracuse has a stranglehold on the No. 1 spot and with Fab Melo back in the fold its tough to picture the Orange slipping very far. Georgetown took a strong hold on the second spot, and Marquette slipped to third somehow staying above Notre Dame despite getting pounded by the Irish 76-59.

"It’s better inside," Dena says. Otto tends to keep heat in but is not a sweat box when you’re on duty." "He looks like a brand, new Teddy bear," according to the coach, adding "he’s looking more orange than ever."
