Syracuse No. 2 In AP, Coaches Poll, But You Already Knew That
The Syracuse Orange and the Kentucky Wildcats just keep winning and as such they just keep taking those top two spots in the polls.
In the AP, it's Kentucky No. 1 and Syracuse No. 2 once again. The Orange received their requisite two first-place votes as usual. They're followed by Kansas, Duke and Michigan State. No voters have the Orange lower than No. 2 in their poll. #RemoveThemFromTheList.
Over in the Coaches, Syracuse sits snugly behind Kentucky at No. 2. The Wildcats received all 31 first-place votes once again. Duke, Kansas and Michigan State round out the top five.
Other Big East squads in the rankings include Marquette (8/7), Georgetown (11/12), Louisville (18/18) and Notre Dame (19/19).
Syracuse is atop the RPI once again with a SOS on 23. The Orange are 1-0 against RPI Top Ten teams, 3-0 against RPI Top Twenty teams and 8-1 against RPI Top Fifty teams.
The Sagarin not only continues to dislike the Orange but continues to drop them. SU is down to fifth in those rankings, behind Kentucky, Ohio State, Michigan State and Kansas. #AdddHimToTheList
Syracuse is No. 1 in the Colley Matrix and No. 2 in the Massey Ratings, whatever that does for you.
In Bracketology, SB Nation still has Syracuse as the top seed in the East playing Stony Brook while Lunardi has the Orange atop the East playing LIU-Brooklyn. In both instances, Kentucky replaced Syracuse as the top overall seed in the tournament. So long as the Orange get the East, I don't think it really matters.

Its amazing that UK is so unanimous
Its surprising that SU receives so few first place votes and it’s been that way since they lost. Oh well, would rather get all those votes in April.

UK is living up to the preseason hype.
The pre-season top 3 or 4 were UNC, UK, and then Ohio State/UConn. Those teams were perceived to have the best talent – far better than the teams in the next tier (e.g., Syracuse, and Duke). So when Syracuse snuck into the #1 spot because of a Kentucky loss, they took the #1 spot, but only barely because they weren’t supposed to be there and they weren’t playing a frontloaded schedule. If Ohio State or UNC only had one loss at this point, you can be damned sure Kentucky wouldn’t be a unanimous choice.
UNC was far and away the overall favorite heading into the season (and hell, they’ve got the talent to definitely finish the year on a run). I’d imagine if UNC only had 2 losses, they’d still be fighting with Syracuse for #2.
I've been involved in a number of cults, both as a leader and a follower. You have more fun as a follower. But you make more money as a leader.
Well they passed us when we lost
And they’ve done nothing wrong to deserve a drop in the rankings.
Can’t blame the voters at all. If the roles were reversed we’d be saying the same thing. You’re #1 until you mess up.

I've always wondered
If UK had to play 3 games without Davis, against mediocre teams, how would they fair?
My personal little wish list moving forward:
1. We play Notre Dame in the BET,
2. We play Duke and/or NC on our way to the FF,
3. We play the Kentucky unibrows in the finaIs.
I think Gottleib’s head would explode, Dickie V would commit suicide, Digger would poop himself (literally), and Seth Davis would sob uncontrollably. Would that mean Hubert was our “go-to” CBB analyst?
Go Orange!
regarding #2
It would definitely be Duke or UNC, not and. No way Duke & UNC wind up in the same region.
Shut up brain or I'll stab you with a Q-tip
How bout
Duke in Elite Eight, UNC in Final Four?

Would definitely prove out.
I like that scenario but as Sean mentioned, it would probably be either Duke or UNC in regional finals and the other in the FF. Beautiful thing were we to win out and absolutley no arguement for easy road.

I wonder if Doug Gottlieb
Still thinks that Baylor and OSU are better than us? They should do a segment on ESPN that revisits some of the stupid things that were said…
NY's College Team... should be called the Big Orange, not the Big Apple
Still the only thing that matters:
In Bracketology, SB Nation still has Syracuse as the top seed in the East
The rest is just fluff, same as it has been since late January when the team was 20-1 and starting to coast to the end. But, as the article said, you already knew that.
Go Orange(men)!
