Did you know that Syracuse Orange head coach Jim Boeheim has yet to argue a defamation suit brought against him outside of Syracuse? Absolutely ridiculous and I really think it's going to hurt him come Defamation Tourney time.
The slander lawsuit against Syracuse University head basketball Jim Boeheim will be moved to Syracuse, a state Supreme Court judge ruled Wednesday.
DeJoseph wrote in his ruling that attorneys for Davis and Lang failed to show that an impartial trial cannot be obtained in Onondaga County. He also wrote that attorneys for Davis and Lang failed to show that potential jurors would have a financial stake in the outcome of the case.
It's a worst-case scenario for Davis and Lang. It's a foregone conclusion that the court case will be a orange-tinged circus.
The bailiff will begin every day asking those present to sing the SU alma mater. The judge will have every witness swear to "tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, let's go Orange." The jury will almost certainly Orange-out in court every day and randomly break out in The Wave during proceedings.
Worst of all, if at any time Boeheim's lawyers think they're in trouble, they can sub in Gerry McNamara.
Syracuse University will release a "Cuse Is In The District Court, Oh My God" t-shirt later today. It will be available at the bookstore for $17.99.
