Syracuse Daily Links - C.J. Fair Honored

Syracuse University Athletics - FAIR NAMED TO BIG EAST HONOR ROLL
Fair led the #2/2 Orange (27-1, 14-1) in scoring against Louisville last Monday in a gritty 52-51 win. He had 13 points and five rebounds in 35 minutes of action to help Syracuse edge the Cardinals. He then posted a career and game-high 21 points to go with eight rebounds, two steals, and one block in 38 minutes to help the Orange win 74-64 at Rutgers on Sunday.

Syracuse Orange Basketball - Quietly, C.J. Fair Has Become Mr. Reliable
Coming into the season, C.J. Fair was just another player off the bench that Syracuse could throw into the mix of their extremely talented depth. However, 28 games into the season, Fair has quietly become arguably Syracuse’s most steady and reliable player.

Waiters’ scoring can be the difference between a good Orange team and the unstoppable force we have seen at times this season. During SU’s most dominant stretch of the season from late-December until the Notre Dame loss, Waiters scored at least 12 points for eight straight games.

No ruling on request to move slander suit against Syracuse University, Jim Boeheim from NYC to Syracuse | syracuse.com

WBB | SU looks to knock off ranked DePaul on road - Sports - The Daily Orange
After the Orange won its 16th game of the season over Marquette on Saturday, Hillsman said the victory had a greater meaning than simply ensuring a winning season. More importantly, it keeps the team's postseason hopes alive as long as SU puts together a string of victories to close out its season. It's still a tall task for the inconsistent Orange (16-11, 5-8 Big East), but it's the mission starting Tuesday on the road against No. 21 DePaul (20-7, 8-5 Big East) at 9 p.m.

Can familiarity breed success, speed chemistry for Syracuse University women's lacrosse team? | syracuse.com
In the spring of 2008, Gary Gait’s first women’s lacrosse team at Syracuse University included players from Rochester and Binghamton but not one from an area high school. Four years later, the 33-player SU roster is roughly one-third local. When the No. 12 Orange opens its regular season today against No. 13 Boston College (4 p.m., Carrier Dome), the starting lineup will include players from Marcellus, Cortland and Christian Brothers Academy.

Lettin' It Rip With Sean Lindsay | Lacrosse All Stars
My entire life growing up, starting from when I started playing lacrosse at 10 years old, all I ever wanted to do was play in the Carrier Dome, and win National Championship for Syracuse. If I had to choose a school to play at right now, in the year 2012, that wasn’t Cuse, I would go to Michigan.

So what the heck does a Syracuse basketball student manager do? Kevin Belbey breaks it down for us. (via John Nolan):

Two things about this video...

Star-divide

  1. Is it me or does Boeheim totally try to fake his way through Kevin's last name? Kevin Bbbbbbly...
  2. This moment below would be humorous on its own, but throw in Bernie Fine looking on and all of a sudden it changes the entire scene...

1. I think Boeheim fumbles on the word "well"

I don’t think he was trying to say Kevin’s last name. Good clip!

Congrats to the women’s team for their 81-65 win over DePaul!

Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

And for rocking the Blue Jerseys while doing so

Saw the run to start the second half and blow the game open when flipping channels last night and thought it was nice to see Blue basketball jerseys not result in a defeat for us
