Syracuse No. 2 In AP, Coaches Polls. Booooring...
The Syracuse Orange are the No. 2 team in the nation once again in both the AP and Coaches Polls. Tell me something I don't know...
In the AP, Kentucky is No. 1 and received 63 first-place votes, Syracuse is No. 2 and receive two first-place votes and Missouri, Kansas and Duke round out the top 5. Ohio State dropped from sixth to eighth and Georgetown lurks at No. 9.
In the Coaches Poll, Kentucky received all thirty-one first-place votes and are followed by Syracuse, Missouri, Duke and Kansas.
Other Big East teams in both polls are Georgetown (9/8), Marquette (10/10), Louisville (17/17) and Notre Dame (20/18).
Syracuse is 4-1 against teams currently ranked and 2-0 against teams currently ranked in the top ten.
In the RPI, Syracuse is still No. 1, though our overall SOS is dropping (22nd). The RPI makes less and less sense each week as our SOS plummets despite the fact that our resume looks better and better. Syracuse is now 5-0 against RPI Top 30 teams, 7-1 against RPI Top 50 teams.
In the Massey Ratings, Kentucky has overtaken us as No. 1. We're still No. 2.
The Sagarin Ratings continue to dislike the Orange, putting us down at No. 4 behind Kentucky, Ohio State and Kansas.
In the world of Bracketology, SB Nation continues to have us the one-seed in the East, though now we play bitter-rival Stony Brook in the first round. Lunardi continues to have us as the No. 1 overall seed and has us playing the winner of God Damn Vermont and Savannah State.

Wasn't Savannah State one of those 0-28 teams a season or two ago?
Pretty impressive if they’re projected to win their conference.
Yeah
I think it was the 04-05 season. Of course look at what happened to Binghamton. They were in the tournament in ’09 and now might pull off the winless season.
Without Gerry McNamara we wouldn't have won 10 f-- games, not 10

Oh I thought it was more recent than that
Well Binghamton has a little bit more than just on the court stuff lol
Yeah crazy stuff, did you read the article?
Entire athletics department basically gutted.

SOS
takes into account opponents opponents. I think it’s silly, but after the Uconn game this week it will go back up since UConn is #1 SOS
I have NO idea why UConn gets the #1 SOS
Their OOC opponents didn’t seem any tougher than ours (FSU, Harvard, and Tennessee vs Florida, Marshall, and NC State) and we should have similar opponents’ opponents given we both played an ACC and an SEC school.
I know how it's calculated.
I just have no idea how in the name of Ernie Davis UConn managed to get the best opponents’ winning percentage AND the best opponents’ opponents winning percentage when their schedule seemed so average.
They play us twice. That will affect SOS.
Go Cuse!
....And Georgetown still sucks!

Poor Catamounts.
Go Cuse. Go Utes. Go Kings (hockey version). Go Panthers (hockey version). Go Marlins. Go Dodgers. I despise the NFL and NBA, so don't bore me.
?
How could any poll, human or computer, have this team behind a 5 loss Ohio St. team?

Sagarin
takes into account margin of victory. OSU has 20 point wins over Indiana and Duke which is really upping their rating there.
