Cuse Alumni in the City: New York's College Team Comes To New York

Syracuse is New York's College Team -- on a Taxi

This is a big week for Syracuse fans in New York! On Saturday, February 4th at 12pm EST, New York's College Team is playing uh, New York's College Team (which is a little awkward) for a Rumble In The Garden. Should be a good one too, especially since today the return of Fab Melo was announced. If you aren't planning on watching the Orange take on the Johnnies on their home court in person, there are a bunch of places where you can watch the game, after the jump.

Star-divide

Big Apple Orange is putting on a few happy hours for the SU/St. John's game on Saturday starting at a nice and early 10am. And if you're not going, just hang out in these locations to watch. According to the email to those who bought tickets and/or t-shirts:

PRE-GAME - HAPPY HOUR: We are hosting a happy hour at THREE locations, since we anticipate a large alumni turnout. We will be at Local West, located at 1 Penn Plz (at the corner of 31st St and 8th Avenue), Stout (in the basement), located at 133 W 33rd St (between 6th and 7th Avenue) AND at Feile Bar and Restaurant, located just across the street at 131 W 33rd St (between 6th and 7th Avenue). The happy hours will run from 10:00am-12:00pm EST. Food/Breakfast will be available for purchase. Board members of Big Apple Orange will be on hand to greet you.

And as always you can watch the game at the Village Pourhouse on 11th & 3rd, or East End Bar & Grill on 1st between 86th & 87th. If you're attending the game (like I will be up in the 400 section somewhere) send me your crazy fan pictures from inside Madison Square Garden on Saturday and I'll post a few of the more ridiculous ones.

Might be a good one...

…on Saturday. The Cuse should take this one as this is really the best Cuse team I have seen in a very, very long time and freshmen get eaten alive in this league. But our young Johnnies are scrappy and playing really well of late. Despite their youth, they are extremely talented and played Duke strong on Saturday. I suspect this will be the last St. John’s / Cuse game at the Garden unless we meet again in the BET this year or next. I am doubtfull this game will remain on the schedule once the move to the ACC takes place. But Cuse / Johnnies have provided some great games and memories over the years – even with our slump from 2003 – 2009. So here’s to the end of a rivalry and to two of the Founding Fathers of the Great Big East Conference. It was great while it lasted. See you guys at the Garden.
