Around SBN: Win or Lose, Boston Celtics' New Big 3 Era A Success

National Signing Day, Syracuse Recruiting: Chief Whigham Will Patrol the Defensive Backfield

via cdn1.sbnation.com

Julian Whigham played some of the best competition in the entire country this year at Dwyer High School in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and had an incredibly impressive season at safety in the sunshine state.

Rivals says...three stars.

Scout says...two stars.

ESPN says...three stars, grade- 75, position- 85, regional- 569, state- 200

Who's Crying?: Boston College, Indiana, Miami, NIU, WMU

Money Quote: "I’ve always been a fan," said Whigham, who was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and grew up a devoted follower of the Orange. His family moved to South Florida when Whigham was young, he said, and "my mom gave me the opportunity to choose to root for the Florida teams or the New York teams, and I always chose the New York teams."

Which SU Coach Gets a Bonus?: John Anselmo reeled in the talented defensive back.

Fun Fact: Whigham is a really solid student as well, and received interest from Harvard.

But How Does He Practice?:

I love how Marrone seems to be bringing in true scholar athletes

It says a lot that these students could consider Harvard, or want to major in something at Whitman or architecture than something much easier.
