National Signing Day, Syracuse Recruiting: Ben Lewis Brings the Versatility
Ben Lewis, a wide receiver/linebacker/special teams aficionado out of Middletown, MD, was one of my favorite Syracuse prospects to write about because he literally did everything on the field. He ran the ball, he caught the ball, he sacked the QB, he ran back punts...you never knew what Lewis would give you in a given game.
Stats Me: 12 Rushes, 153 Yards, 2 TD, 51 Receptions, 874 Yards, 12 TD, 74 tackles, eight sacks, one interception, three fumble recoveries, 18 punt returns for 303 yards, three kick returns for 69 yards. Yeah, he does a lot of things.
Rivals says...two stars.
two stars and a positional ranking of 228.
ESPN says...two stars, grade- 68, position rank- 269, regional rank- 344, state rank- 64
Who's Crying?: Just Towson. He had interest from UConn and ECU.
Money Quote: "I always felt like I had that potential, but I didn't really realize it until I started going to some big time camps and going against the recruits there — these highly ranked cornerbacks — and beating them one-on-one."
Which SU Coach Gets a Bonus?: Rob Moore did most of the legwork getting Ben to SU.
Fun Fact: Ben Lewis wins a lot of awards- 2011 Consensus All-State Wide Receiver, 2011 All-Conference, 2011 All-Gazette First Team, 2011 All FNP First Team
Highlights: A few different videos of Ben are available here.

I love that attitude
where they think “I can beat these guys ranked better than me.” Its the upset alert mentality. Thats what we need. Some athletes get complacent. “I can beat these guys, these guys will beat me because they were ranked higher.”
May Doug Marrone bless you and keep you.
I like him he plays with a chip on his shoulder
I think he’s one of those players who is under the radar that is going to make a lot of noise
