National Signing Day, Syracuse Recruiting: Omari Palmer Trades Green & Gold For Orange

He's the one on the right, duh. via Keith Irizarry.

6-foot-3, 295-pound offensive lineman Omari Palmer was the third player to verbally-commit to play for the Syracuse Orange in 2012 all the way back in March. Palmer stayed true to his word and signed on the line that is dotted today.

Stat Me: The 2011 New York State Class AA First Team honoree helped the Longwood Lions to an 8-2 record. He was also a 2010 New York State Class AA Third Team selection, earning all-metro, all-Long Island, all-county and all-league honors in 2011.

Rivals says...two-stars.

Scout says...two-stars and the No. 107 offensive lineman in the nation.

ESPN says...pretty much nothing.

Who's Crying?: No one, but only because Syracuse was Palmer's first offer and he took it right away. UConn and Rutgers apparently showed interest but never offered.

Money Quote: "I love the location. And I love what coach (Doug) Marrone is doing with the program...Syracuse is home. The state of New York is home. It's where I have lived all my life. Everyone I know and love is here so why leave the state?"

Which SU Coach Gets A Bonus?: No one is cited, so let's just give it to all of them.

Fun Fact: Palmer grew up a Syracuse football fan, which is impressive given what Syracuse football was like when he was growing up.

Twitter Handle: @GreenAndGold75, which he's going to have to change.

Show Me This Hoss: No video, alas.
