Yeah, I dipped into that joke well twice, deal with it. It's going to be a long day, and you only get so many Myleses.
Myles Hilliard was a Pitt commit until Todd Graham up-and-left in almost comical fashion this off-season. Syracuse came on late and wined and dined Hilliard, and the rest is history.
Stat Me: According to MaxPreps, Hilliard recorded 42 tackles, a sack, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries this season.
Rivals says...three stars. I like that this is becoming the new standard.
Scout says...three stars and a position rank of 115.
ESPN says...three stars, a grade of 78, positional ranking of 50, regional rank of 71, and state rank of 35.
Who's Crying?: Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Michigan State, Minnesota, Ohio, Pittsburgh, Toledo, West Virginia, Western Michigan
Money Quote: "It was bound to happen. Syracuse was actually the first letter I received. Coach Wheatley came up to [Bedford HS] about 5 or 6 times. He was very persistent, and I felt like I was part of their plan. When you know, you know. It feels great."
Which SU Coach Gets a Bonus?: You just read it, Tyrone Wheatley, connoisseur of all things Midwest recruiting. Tim Daost also played a role in landing Hilliard.
Fun Fact: In this morning's first article, I wrote that SU did a good job of matching player hosts with prospects. Who hosted Myles? Another Ohio DE of course...Micah Robinson.
Twitter Handle: At one point he was @FedEx_4, but now it looks like he's switched names or is off Twitter.
Show Me Those Tackles: Fast forward about half way through to get to his defensive tape...
